We were one of the first cancer centres globally to use specialist AI software as part of our radiotherapy treatment planning. Dr Simon Temple, Consultant Clinical Scientist at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, was featured on BBC Radio 5 Live's breakfast show this morning talking about this work and how it benefits patient care.

Consultant Medical Oncologist Dr Ernie Marshall and Head of Transformation Mel Warwick, from The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust, spoke about the pioneering work they have been leading on urgent and emergency cancer care in a new podcast for Health Innovation North West Coast. Ernie and Mel have been working with colleagues across Cheshire and Merseyside to enhance urgent and emergency care for people with cancer - for example, reducing the need for them to go to hospital emergency departments and reducing hospital admissions by providing A&E staff with rapid access to advice from cancer specialists. You can hear them talk about this work with acute physician Dr Ragit Varia from Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals in a podcast hosted by Caroline Kenyon from Health Innovation North West Coast.
