There has been a big rise in the proportion of people whose cancer is detected early at stages one and two - when there is more chance of a successful outcome - in Cheshire and Merseyside, according to the latest NHS data. The figures show that Cheshire and Merseyside has seen the second largest increase in early detection rates out of all 21 cancer alliance areas in England over the last five years (2018 to 2023).
