Who we are

We are a specialist team, registered under the Health and Care Professionals Council. We are active members of the Royal College Speech and Language Therapists involved in local and national Clinical Excellence Networks. We are core members of the Cheshire & Merseyside Multidisciplinary team and are proactive in representing the needs of patients across the region.

What we do

Some cancers or cancer treatments can affect your speech and/or swallowing.

A Speech and Language Therapist can work with you to find the best way for you to communicate with your family, your friends and others. After assessing your swallowing, a Speech and Language Therapist can offer practical suggestions on the best way to take food and drinks.

We work closely with our Speech and Language Therapy colleagues in both Aintree Hospital and the local areas – to make sure that we support you here, and with your local Speech and Language Therapists back at home.

How to Refer

If you are a patient at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and wish to be referred to Speech and Language Therapy, you can ask to be referred to us. You can do this by talking to any member of staff, or contact us direct on the number below.
