The findings about the positive role of androgens are reinforced by outcomes from a Phase II clinical trial that Professor Palmieri offered at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust – which provides the specialist cancer service for the 2.4m people of Cheshire and Merseyside – has appointed two new non-executive directors to its Board. Councillor Anna Rothery and Dr Asutosh T. Yagnik began their three-year terms this month at the Trust.

The team that developed Cheshire & Merseyside’s new specialist cancer hospital – the 11-storey Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter – has been shortlisted for a major national award. They are finalists in the Built Environment category of the HSJ Partnership Awards 2021, which recognise outstanding dedication to improving healthcare and effective collaboration with the NHS.
