NHS BigTea

The NHS Big Tea is a chance for people up and down the country to come together and celebrate the NHS. And what better way to do this than with a cup of tea!

The humble cup of tea has a long and proud association with the NHS. Originally served to patients in traditional fine cups with saucers and side spoon, tea was, and still to this day, is thought to go hand in hand with recovery and wellbeing for many patients.

At Clatterbridge, tea is shared by thousands of patients, staff and visitors every day – while waiting for an appointment, receiving news, when visiting a loved one, settling into a ward, after a long night shift or as a quick break in a busy day. Tea brings us all together and is a symbol of comfort and care.

What better way to support and celebrate The NHS and The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, than by raising a cuppa with friends, family or colleagues?

On or around Friday 5th July (or any day that suits you), we would love as many people as possible to get together for an extra special cup, that can help change lives. You might want to host a par-tea for your friends and family, brew up a Mad Hatters street party, crack open the staff room tea bags, or commandeer the local village hall for afternoon tea. We’ve got posters, bunting, cake cards, invitations, collection tins and even selfie props to help make your party tea-riffic.

Don't forget to tag us in your tea party pictures on the day as we would love to share on our social media! Tag us using @ClatterbridgeCC on Facebook and Twitter, or @ClatterbridgeCancerCharity on Instagram #NHSBigTea
