Why We Need Your Help

We are Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, and together with our supporters, we are passionate about the incredible care given at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

By choosing to support our charity, you will help to improve patient experience and fund vital research, along with the latest innovations and technology.

We are so often told that Clatterbridge is unlike any other hospital. It’s thanks to your support that we can help to create an environment in which patients receive the best possible experience, with the special touches that mean so much.

With your help, Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is...

Enabling innovations in care

for every patient, every day.

Caring for people in a way that goes beyond what the NHS can provide, supporting our frontline colleagues and those behind the scenes to provide the best possible treatment and care.

Enhancing the patient environment

supporting recovery and wellbeing.

Helping to ensure our patients are cared for in the best possible environment, creating peaceful indoor and outdoor spaces and funding therapeutic work to encourage emotional wellbeing, through the arts.

Investing in leading technology

driving better outcomes for people with cancer.

Supporting clinical colleagues to develop the latest advances in cancer treatment and how technology can transform how we care for the people who need us, while helping to fund the digital environment that makes such a difference to our patients.

Funding life-saving research

shaping cancer care for generations to come.

Enabling our clinicians to look at new ways to treat and prevent cancer, support clinical trials and helping to give patients at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre access to the latest breakthrough cancer therapies.

It's thanks to your support that we can help to make The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre such a special place, helping our patients - young and old - get the best possible care.

By choosing to raise money for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, you'll be helping to fund pioneering research, new treatments and vital support services that may otherwise be unavailable - ranging from the latest innovations in how treat cancer to the special touches that mean so much to our patients.

The future of cancer research

As part of Clatterbridge’s ongoing research development is the commitment to ensure that our brightest junior doctors are offered the chance to develop as clinicians and as future research leaders by funding their scientific training through the Clinical Fellows Programme where they will study for a three year PhD under the supervision of expert scientists.

Arts in Health Programme

Your support will help us deliver a new program to entertain & engage our patients, families and staff with regular performances and person-centered music making activities, working with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. We are also providing funding for regular participatory arts activities & using artwork to transform and enhance our centres to create welcoming spaces.

Scalp Coolers

Cancer treatment, in particular chemotherapy is hugely challenging, involving difficult side effects- both physical & psychological. For many hair loss is the first visible side effect & can be one of the most profound. We are committed to funding eight additional Scalp Cooler machines, which cost around £12,500 each - each machine will help ease the path of cancer treatment.
