A consultant in Clinical Oncology at the Centre since 1996, Dr Syndikus studied medicine in her home country of Germany and undertook her postgraduate training in Glasgow, Norwich, Cambridge, the Royal Marsden Hospital and UCL Hospital in London. She also completed a Research fellowship in Vancouver, Canada.

She specialises in radiotherapy for hematological malignancies (lymphoma, myeloma and leukemia) and urological malignancies (bladder and prostate cancer), Since 1998, has been the lead clinician for Urology SRG at the Centre. She is investigator for many clinical trials and recruits patients for these. She is leading a large phase III trial for prostate radiotherapy in the UK (PIVOTALboost).

Dr Syndikus's research interests is prostate radiotherapy, whilst her clinics are held here at the Centre, at Warrington District General Hospital and Liverpool University Teaching Hospital.
