Following completion of specialist medical oncology training at Guys and St Thomas' Hospital and a PhD at Kings College London, Dr Lord joined The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre as a Medical Oncologist specialising in the treatment of gynaecological cancers.

Coordinating a portfolio of clinical trials, she is a member of the NCRI Clinical Trials Group for gynaecology and has worked as Clinical Research Lead for the Trust and subsequently as Clinical Director for Chemotherapy.

Dr Lord is also an honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool.
