World Pancreatic Cancer Day launched

Posted 14th November 2014

On Thursday, November 13th organisations and individuals around the world marked the first ever World Pancreatic Cancer Day.

Pancreatic cancer has one of the lowest survival rates of any cancer; a little known fact and something that has barely changed in more than 40 years. World Pancreatic Cancer Day has been launched to help bring about a much needed change in awareness levels about the disease and a focus on the need for urgent change.

Chair of Medical Oncology Professor Dan Palmer spoke to BBC Radio Mersesyide's Tony Snell on his breakfast show to help raise awareness of this disease and about the research taking place at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre to advance the treatment for pancreatic cancer which is the fifth biggest cause of cancer related deaths.

You can listen again to Dan's interview here
(The interview starts at 49.50 minutes in, and will be availble until 20th November)
