We are looking for befrienders to help our Ward staff

We are now recruiting for befrienders to join our ward staff in creating a calm, caring and comfortable ward environment. We are looking for anyone who can spare a few hours a week to provide companionship to some of our inpatient population. This maybe providing a listening ear, chatting over old photographs, share in watching a movie together, listening to music or playing cards/bingo. Such interactions with others can really help to improve patients’ spirits and have a positive effect on the healing process.
Volunteers are needed between the hours of 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday.
You must be over 16 years old:
- be reliable, trustworthy, motivated, friendly and caring
- able to commit to four hours per week
- to commit to at least 6 months with CCC
- be emotionally mature
- be sensitive to others
