We are changing our telephone numbers in July

Posted 23rd June 2016

From 25th July we will be changing our main switchboard numbers when we introduce a new telephone system.

When we transfer to the new system many telephone numbers across the Trust will change, including:

  • Main switchboard numbers will change to:
    • Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Wirral 0151 556 5000
    • Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Aintree 0151 556 5959
  • All direct dial telephone numbers
  • All Internal extension numbers that start with ‘4’

Our current analogue telephone system incurs significant costs for the Trust so we are introducing a new ‘voice over IP’ telephone system.

The IP system is widely used by other NHS trusts so will mean we will benefit from free calls to other IP telephones and reduced costs to mobile and standard analogue telephones – resulting in a significant cost saving for the Trust, allowing us to use the savings for more patient focused services.

To ensure this change is as smooth as possible and patients and visitors can continue to contact us easily, we will put a divert in place for up to six months so any calls to previous numbers will be automatically routed through to the new numbers.

The new numbers will be on the website and patient letters/appointments. Patient information leaflets will be updated when we order more stock.
