Transforming Cancer care consultation roadshow visits Nantwich

Posted 14th August 2014

People living in south Cheshire can find out more about proposals for a new cancer hospital in Liverpool - and what it would mean for cancer care across Merseyside and Cheshire - at a consultation roadshow in Nantwich today.

The Transforming Cancer Care consultation is asking people's views on the proposals, which would see The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre open a new hospital on the same site as Royal Liverpool University Hospital and the University of Liverpool.

It would also retain its Wirral site with outpatient chemotherapy, radiotherapy and related services so most local people could continue receiving care there. Services at Aintree and in other hospitals across Merseyside and Cheshire would also continue.

The consultation team will be at Morrison's supermarket in Nantwich from 4pm-7pm today (14th August) with copies of the consultation document and questionnaire. There is also a roadshow tomorrow (15th August) at Tesco in Congleton from 10am-2pm.

The consultation runs until 19th October. For more information, visit www.transformingcancercaremc.nhs.uk.
