Staff and patients celebrate the NHS Turning 70 with The NHS Big 7Tea

Today, to celebrate 70 years of the NHS, staff and patients at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre raised a cuppa to help people with cancer.
The NHS Big7Tea has seen people up and down the country come together to toast 70 years of the NHS.
At our centres in Wirral, Aintree, and The Royal Liverpool Hospital people drank tea with friends, family and colleagues to mark the occasion and support the vital work of NHS charities.
Tea brings us all together. It breaks down social boundaries, and like the NHS and NHS charities, is a symbol of comfort and community.
Our centre in Wirral hosted a Big7Tea party on the lawn in front of the hospital with a fantastic raffle, live music courtesy of Mike West, Greasby Ukes and Neston Strummers and a number of vintage cars were on display.
Katrina Bury, Head of The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, said: “We are thrilled to see so many people coming together to enjoy a cup of tea and celebrate 70 years of the NHS.
“The support of patients, staff and numerous local businesses has allowed us to enjoy a fantastic day while helping transform cancer.”
The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is among more than 250 NHS charities across the UK.
In recent years NHS charities have funded major capital projects, pioneering research and medical equipment at our hospitals.
The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is currently working to raise £15 million towards the construction of a brand new specialist hospital in Liverpool city centre and improvements to the Wirral site.
