Royal College of Nursing award for Carol

Posted 27th May 2014

Carol Gregson, Ward Manager for Chemotherapy and Outpatient Services at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, has received a long service award from the Royal College of Nursing North West.

The award recognises Carol's many years of service to RCN members and the RCN itself through her role as a RCN representative.

Carol, who manages the Delamare Ward at our Wirral headquarters and our outpatient chemotherapy services across Cheshire and Merseyside, received the award along with two others at a meeting of the RCN North West Board last week after completing 15 years of continuous service as a RCN rep.

She has worked in nursing since 1974, and in oncology at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre for around 30 years. She became a RCN steward in 1999.

Commenting on the award, Regional Director for the RCN in the North West Steve Flanagan said: "The RCN’s reps are the backbone of the organisation, and do crucial work on behalf of our members at NHS and independent sector bodies across the North West and the wider country. I was delighted to have the opportunity to present Catherine, Janette and Carol with their well-earned awards, and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank for them for the valuable contribution they’ve made to the RCN during their 15 years of service as reps."
