​RCN announcement: Information for our patients

You may have heard on the news that the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) has announced strike action in England on 15^th & 20^th December.

We will keep patients fully informed and will let you know as soon as we have further details of what that might mean here.

In the meantime, we hope you will find the following information helpful:

• This is a national pay dispute between unions and government. We are still hopeful that all strikes can be avoided through national negotiations.
• We have plans in place to minimise any disruption to services and to patients’ care.
• We contact you directly if this is going to affect you.
• You should continue to attend hospital as planned unless we contact you to say otherwise.
