Our Finance Director James Thomson wins Finance Director of the Year Award 2021

James Thomson, our Director of Finance, has won a Finance Director of the Year Award and accepted it on behalf of everyone in our Finance team. James won in the category of Finance Director of the Year for not-for-profit organisations in our region with turnovers of more than £100m a year.

It's a fantastic achievement and a real tribute not just to James but to everyone in our Finance team - it's a real recognition of the contribution they've all made during the pandemic and the opening of CCC-Liverpool.

The judges were really impressed by the way James and the team have managed funding in a way that has enhanced and supported cancer care throughout the pandemic, enabled us to deliver the new hospital, and maintained a good financial rating and balanced budget despite all the challenges that NHS organisations have been facing.

James said: "The awards are named Finance Director of the Year but they're actually all about the team. We have a brilliant Finance team here at CCC and this award is for them as well as me."

Huge congratulations to James and all the Finance team. The Finance Director of the Year Awards 2021 were hosted by BBC presenter Hugh Ferris. They recognise finance teams in Cheshire, Merseyside, North Wales and Warrington.
