New site names for our Centres

Posted 20th May 2016

From Monday 23rd May we are changing the names of our sites to avoid confusion for patients and visitors.

As we prepare for a future with three Clatterbridge Cancer Centres we need to ensure it is clear for patients which location they need to go for their appointments.

The Trust name will remain The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust but the names of our different sites will now include the location too.

Currently we have a centre in Wirral and a satellite radiotherapy centre in Aintree. Our exciting plans to build a new hospital in Liverpool mean we will have another centre by 2019.

The new names for our Centres:

  • Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Wirral (the centre on Clatterbridge Healthpark)
  • Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Aintree (the satellite radiotherapy centre)
  • Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Liverpool (the new hospital when it is built in 2019)
  • Our clinics and services in other hospitals will be described as ‘Clatterbridge Cancer Centre at the Countess of Chester, Halton, Southport etc.’

The new location names will be on all patient appointments and letters. Please take care to look at the location address before your appointment so you know where your appointment is.
