We're joining forces with other Liverpool Health Partners to hold a free day of informative family fun at The World Museum on Friday 27th June.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is one of a number of health organisations taking part to help people in Liverpool, Merseyside and surrounding areas lead healthier and happier lives.

The free, fun-filled health extravaganza takes place at The World Museum on William Brown Street, Liverpool, L3 8EN from 10am till 4pm and is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the amazing health and wellbeing services available in your city and how YOU can help to make Liverpool a healthier place!

It includes:

  • Health checks, advice and information
  • Help and advice about giving up and cutting down
  • Panel debates with the experts, hosted by Radio Merseyside’s Roger Phillips, followed by the opportunity for YOU to pose the important questions about health in the city
  • Kevin Sheedy promoting bowel cancer screening
  • Sign up for FREE and reduced cost fitness and weightloss activities
  • Try out new and exciting health and wellbeing apps
  • Free fruit and healthy food
  • Live entertainment throughout the day
  • Fun indoor and outdoor activities for all ages
  • Radio Merseyside’s Sean Styles LIVE on air from the event

The event is supported by Liverpool City Council, Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Liverpool Health Partners (LHP) and is designed to give residents the knowledge and confidence to take control of their own wellbeing and live healthier lifestyles by choice and not to accept ill health as inevitable.

Described as a ‘health fair’ by the organisers, the event will take place both inside the World Museum and outside on William Brown Street with participants as varied as Aintree Hospital, The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Liverpool Lifestyles Gyms, North West Ambulance Service, Liverpool Comedy Trust, National Museums Liverpool and a variety of departments from The Royal Liverpool.

With ‘prevention and self-care’ as a key theme of the day, Liverpool City Council’s Public Health Department will also have a major presence at the event with a stand promoting key messages around health such as smoking and alcohol reduction, skin cancer awareness, and physical activity.

Attendees will also be invited to take part in ‘question and answer’ sessions around three main health topics, highlighted as key issues for Merseyside in the Health Commission Report from. Each Q&A will be preceded by a panel discussion featuring local experts chaired by Radio Merseyside’s Roger Phillips.

In addition, there will be entertainment throughout the day including a performance by the ukulele orchestra of St Vincent’s School (a specialist school for children with sensory impairments) and live, on-stage exercise classes.

The event takes place on Friday 27th June from 10am to 4pm at The World Museum, William Brown Street, L3 8EN. Entry to the event is completely free. The first two hours of the event will be aired live as an outside broadcast on the Sean Styles Show on Radio Merseyside.
