Interim Chief Executive appointed for The Clatterbridge Cancer NHS Foundation Trust

Posted 29th March 2018

The Trust is pleased to announce that the Board has this afternoon approved the appointment of Ann Farrar as Interim Chief Executive. Ann will be joining the Trust on Tuesday 3rd April on an interim basis, until a substantive Chief Executive can be appointed in the coming months.

Ann brings with her a wealth of NHS leadership experience, which will be invaluable to us as we move forward on our journey.

Ann has previously held the roles of Chief Executive of North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust and more recently interim Chief Executive at Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals Trust.

Her immediate focus will be to support our on-going work to Transform Cancer Care in the region, whilst taking strategic responsibility for the delivery of the Trusts’ priorities and performance.

This appointment will provide continued stability and leadership to our Executive Team and wider senior leadership team whilst we undertake the recruitment process for a substantive Chief Executive.

After his invaluable contribution to the Trust over recent weeks as Acting Chief Executive, Barney Schofield will subsequently return to his role as Director of Operations & Transformation and will also assume the role of Deputy Chief Executive on an interim basis.

We are pleased to welcome Ann to the Trust in this interim role and look forward over the coming weeks to her spending time meeting with staff, members and key stakeholders.

Kind regards,

Phil Edgington

Chair
