Dot is this month's staff awards winner

Dot Griffiths, Nurse Practitioner on Sulby ward, has won this month's staff award after being nominated by patients and relatives who felt she went out of her way to make sure they received the very best care and felt infornmed and well supported.

Comments on their nomination forms included: “Dot completely put me at ease, explained all of my treatment and was exceptionally supportive and caring, both to myself and my husband – truly exceptional."

Others who nominated her said: "she went that extra mile to explain things to me", even when you are feeling down she puts a smile on your face", "always a positive empathetic attitude" and "even when she wasn't in charge of my son .. she always made an effort to come in and see how he was doing".

Anyone can nominate a memner of our staff for the monthly award. The winners are selected by our executive team from a shortlist chosen by staff and a patient representative, based on values including care and compassion.
