Don't delay! Get your flu jab today...

Posted 8th October 2014

The national flu vaccination programme has launched this week. If you are over 65 or are under 65 but have cancer or share a household with somebody who does, then you should be entitled to a free flu vaccination through your GP practice.

We would encourage you to have the vaccination. Flu can be a very serious illness for anyone but especially for people whose immune systems may be compromised due to cancer. It's really important to do all you can to reduce your risk of catching flu or of passing it on to someone with cancer.

Other at-risk groups including pregnant women, people with certain long-term conditions (e.g. heart or lung disease) and children aged two to four are also eligible for free flu vacinations.
