The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is a UK top hospital for inpatients

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre has been voted one of England’s top hospitals for inpatients in a recent survey.
The 2018 Adult Inpatient Survey, conducted by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), rated The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre ‘better’ than other hospitals question in the survey in all ten categories, including Care and Treatment, Waiting Lists and Leaving Hospital.
The survey asked people to give their opinions on the care they received, including quality of information and communication with staff, whether they were given enough privacy, the amount of support given to help them eat and drink and assist with personal hygiene, and on their discharge arrangements.
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is the second highest hospital in Merseyside for overall care.
335 patients from The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre responded to the survey, having stayed at least one night in July 2018.
The results come as The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre prepares for its expansion into Liverpool city centre, with a brand new £165 million, 11-story specialist cancer hospital due to open to patients in May 2020.
Sheila Lloyd, Director of Nursing and Quality at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, said: “Our patients are at the heart of everything we do and we’re delighted our teams have given them such a positive experience.
“But there is still always room for improvement. As we push ahead with our plans for expanding our service into Liverpool, maintaining these high standards for our patients will be a priority.
