Clatterbridge Cancer Centre celebrates 65th anniversary alongside 75 years of the NHS

Posted 11th July 2023

It was a week of celebrations at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre as we marked both the NHS’s 75th anniversary and the 65th birthday of our very own Trust.

Staff from across our network of centres enjoyed a host of festivities including our annual tea party, courtesy of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity and raised over £2,000, and complimentary ice creams for all staff.

The Trust was also delighted to welcome back over 30 former colleagues to our celebrations, who had retired over the pandemic and we’d been unable to mark their achievements in person. Guests were hosted by members of our Executive Leadership Team and enjoyed lunch and a tour of our flagship Liverpool hospital, which opened in June 2020.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre also played host to the media, welcoming BBC Radio Merseyside’s Helen Jones, who presented the drive time show from our Main Reception, interviewing a host of staff, volunteers and patients who talked about their experience of The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and the NHS.
