Anonymous donor thanked by The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity

Posted 8th December 2016

The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity has sent out a thank you message to the big hearted person who donated £500 to the fund.

The anonymous donation was made this week but as no contact details were included, fund raisers have been unable to express their gratitude.

The generous sum arrived on the same day as staff and volunteers at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust, Wirral, were taking part in a Christmas jumper day to raise funds and spread some festive cheer among patients.

It doubled the amount raised on the day, and now charity workers want to say thank you to the donor.

Katrina Bury, Head of The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, said: “It was such a lovely surprise to receive an anonymous donation of £500.

“The £500 cash was in an envelope given to The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

“Unfortunately, as there was no name supplied, we are unable to acknowledge this wonderful gift and so would like to thank whoever donated this for their generosity and thoughtfulness.

“Your gift is very much appreciated by everyone at Clatterbridge.

“It is rare to receive such large anonymous donations and we are extremely grateful.”
