Aintree University Hospital main entrance estates work

Posted 29th October 2020

Patients who attend Aintree University Hospital* (e.g. the Marina Dalglish Unit) need to be aware of changes affecting the main entrance from Monday 2nd November. There will be a new temporary main entrance to Aintree University Hospital a few yards from the current entrance.

It is part of work to create a new, much larger, main entrance to Aintree University Hospital as part of the renovation of its Tower Block. It will result in improvements to the hospital’s main entrance and reception area, benefitting patients and staff. The work on the entrance is expected to continue until summer 2021.

Because of the space needed for the work, there will be no drop-off outside the temporary entrance, as this space is required to maintain parking for Blue Badge holders.

Anyone being dropped off for Aintree University Hospital is advised that the nearest way of dropping off a patient will be to use Car Park A or the A&E Car Park, as there is no charge for up to 30 minutes in the car park.

*This change affects the main Aintree University Hospital, not the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Aintree radiotherapy unit.

We would also like to remind patients visiting the Aintree University Hospital site of the following information:

Access to the Aintree University Hospital site is restricted to reduce footfall and the risk of spreading COVID-19. Patients visiting Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Aintree and the Marina Dalglish Unit need to be aware of the following information:
