Accessible visiting times – tell us what you think

Posted 24th November 2016

As a Trust we are always keen to seek new ideas that will improve patient care and achieve excellent outcomes.

We have recently signed up to The Patient and Family Centred Care model which is developed between health professionals, patients and their family members to ensure the best patient journey.

As part of the model we will be delivering new initiatives and one we are currently piloting is accessible vising hours.

From Monday 21st November we will start a four-week pilot to relax visiting hours.

Visitors and carers give comfort, help with care and provide emotional support, which can significantly aid the recovery and well-being of our patients. By working together we can help deliver real benefits to the patients and we believe relaxing our visiting times will help us achieve this.

We actively encourage carers to visit the Centre. If you would like to support and encourage your loved one, for example; to eat at meal times or help with their care, you will be welcomed by staff.

Afternoon/early evening tends to be a quieter time for clinical activity on the wards so these are good times to visit. Also, if you would like to visit before 10am or after 9pm please pre-arrange this with the nurse in charge.
